League on Sunday,
cup on Wednesday
Every week, two matches: on Sunday, the league; on Wednesday, a cup. There are cups in your own country, cups against clubs from other countries and one for champions. And if you have no cup on a Wednesday, a friendly.
The season calendar
The league plays one matchday a week, on Sundays: 30 matchdays and a season of about 34 weeks including preseason, the winter break and the review days. Wednesdays are for the cups, which never clash with each other: if you are in several, you play them all.
Your country’s cups
- Ball Cup: the top four divisions. Single-match ties at the ground of the lower-ranked club: the small club plays at home and keeps the gate.
- Federation Cup: fifth to eighth division, same format. The winner gets prize money that changes its season, the trophy for its cabinet and the winter-break Super Cup.
- Super Cup: in the winter break, the Federation Cup winner against the Ball Cup winner, at the Federation winner’s ground.
- A draw every round. If the number of clubs is not a power of two, the lower clubs play a preliminary round and the best join later.
Against clubs from other countries
- Star Cup: the top two of every first division from the previous season.
- Gold Cup: third and fourth of every first division.
- Both work like today’s big European cup: a six-match league phase against different opponents from other countries (half at home), a play-off round and single-match knockouts at the higher-ranked club’s ground.
- Big Cup: each country’s Ball Cup winners. Straight knockouts, at the ground of the club ranked higher in its league.
Extra time and penalties
Knockout ties always have a winner. If it ends level, there are two fifteen-minute halves of extra time, with stoppage time and one extra substitution. If it is still level, penalties: five each and then sudden death. The best takers go first, and composure and fatigue count.
Prize money, bans and friendlies
Every round you win pays prize money, each round worth double the previous one. In the Star and Gold Cups you are also paid for taking part and for every win. A red card in a cup keeps you out of the next match in that cup, and the league is not affected.
On Wednesdays without a cup you can play a friendly against any club in the world, or tick «Let Antonio arrange friendlies for me» and he books them for you.
